OfflineI read one of your articles about performing an action when the status of a WO is changed. (http://maximotimes.com/maximo/…..calations/)
You do a trick where the escalation runs every minute (which I believe might be resource intensive for the server) that checks for a status change and statusdate difference of less than 1 minute with the repeat box checked.
As I was exploring escalations more, I thought of another possible way to accomplish this same thing but don't have a good way to test it. Here's what I was thinking:
Setup an escalation as follows:
Applies To: WORKORDER
Condition: STATUS='APPR'
Schedule: 1 minute
Elapsed Time Attribute: STATUSDATE
Escalation Point condition: 1=1
Repeats box: UNCHECKED! (this is the key)
My thought here is that as soon as the status is changed to approved, this escalation would execute, but you don't have to worry about the "STATUSDATE>=(getdate()-1/1440) part because the escalation does not repeat! That is, if my understanding of "repeats" is correct.
Is this viable? Does this escalation only execute once per workorder, or once for the whole server if the "repeats" box is unchecked? This is what I was concerned might not work. Any thoughts?
