In Release 7 the maximo.properties file is encrypted after the installation. When modifications need to be made to properties, the maximo.properties file should not be modified.
To modify the maximo.properties file:
1. Delete the maximo.properties in the ibmsmpmaximoapplicationsmaximoproperties folder
2. Copy the maximo.properties_orig to maximo.properties in the same folder
3. Edit the maximo.properties and make the appropriate modifications
4. From a command prompt, change to the ibmsmpmaximotoolsmaximo folder
5. Run encryptproperties.bat
This will encrypt the database user password in the maximo.properties file and also copy the maximo.properties before the encryption to maximo.properties_orig so the new modifications are in the _orig file. [IBM Support]
