MGH – Upgrade to Maximo 7
Massachusetts General Hospital, one of the leading medical facilities in the world, has chosen InterPro Solutions, LLC to upgrade their Maximo 4.1.1 environment to the new Maximo 7.x version. InterPro was contracted to reanalyze their current application environment and business processes, perform data auditing, develop new reports, create integration gateways with external systems and establish a baseline for the eventual utilization of mobile technology.
For Maximo clients upgrading from Maximo 4.1 InterPro offers two upgrade paths. One is the traditional method of utilizing Maximo’s upgrade software tools to migrate the application from 4.1 to 5.x then to 6.x and eventually to Maximo 7x. The second, is the option of extracting, auditing and reformatting the Maximo 4.1 data for eventual electronic loading directly into the Maximo 7.x environment using the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF). This second option allows the client to restructure their data based on lessons learned yet retain the ability to mine the Maximo 4.x data at any time.
Although Maximo 7.x offers many new features and functionality, MGH has chosen to utilize several of InterPro’s add-on modules for Maximo. These modules are:
- Equipment data entry module
- WebMaint – simplified work requests via the web
- WebAssign – easier assigning/re-assigning and scheduling of work orders
- Labor and material entry module
These add-on modules integrate seamlessly with Maximo and can be utilized exclusively or in tandem with Maximo’s similar functioning modules.
