There are many ways to skin a cat when dealing with Maximo and the Integration Framework is no exception. And let’s face it, when using the MIF to import data, it’s not normally an easy task. It’s more of a trial and error process. You send data to Maximo and hope that the data is something that Maximo is expecting. But there are processing rules and controls that you can add to any enterprise service (inbound) or publish channel (outbound) to help with the data. You can use the processing rules to add default values to fields when importing data, for example, you can add a default SITEID to workorder object. This is all done with the tools provided by Maximo and you don’t need to write any custom java code to handle all of these.
