Out of the box, when you create a new workorder, the reported by field is the current logged in user. But sometimes the user who is creating the workorder in Maximo is sometimes the service desk person that is on the phone with real user. If the person on the phone isn’t listed in the person table with an associated person ID, then the service desk person isn’t able to change the reported by field. But there is a way around that to enable the service desk person to either use a person ID from the people table, or simply just input their full name as a free text.
